A Reputation 35 Years in the Making
9 Auto Motion is the creation of British Porsche veteran of over 35 years, Gordon Wardle.
He cut his teeth as an apprentice at one of the first official Porsche dealerships in the UK during the early 1980’s. Since then his reputation and expertise has grown as he drove his way through the leading UK Porsche motorsport teams.
In the late ’80’s Gordon joined Mike Jordan at the inception of Team Eurotech which was the UK’s leading Porsche motorsport preparer of its time. Gordon worked for Eurotech as Technician through to Team Manager, with much on-track success and many Championship wins to his credit.
Gordon ran his own Porsche shop in the UK, GWR Services, in the late 1990’s, as well as setting up and managing Team GVR, the highly successful Porsche motorsport team through the 2000’s.
The racing schedule has been incredibly demanding over the years, but it does mean you end up living and breathing the cars. Gordon thrives on the opportunities he has had to develop and engineer Porsche sports cars, maximizing speed and performance, and working with drivers to push the cars to their limits. It’s one of the reasons he remains passionate about engineering Porsches.
Gordon Wardle has been working with, and learning from, some of the best Porsche experts in the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA for over three decades.
He has built Porsche’s for Road and Race; to Production and Bespoke specifications. Gordon combines the experience of Porsche dealership methodology, with many years’ hands-on experience of building and running safe, reliable cars.
As Technical Director and part of the founding team at Rennsport UK, Gordon worked alongside Paul Cockell in establishing this prestigious bespoke-build company that builds Porsche 911 RS recreations.
As a culmination of his breadth of Porsche experience and expertise, Gordon Wardle and team opened 9 Auto Motion in October 2018, with the mission to bring the highest level of Porsche care and attention customers across Florida.
Behind our name…
One of the hardest parts of starting any new business is coming up with a name that represents it.
‘9 Auto Motion’ took us many weeks to decide on!
The 9 is in reference to the many Porsche models, in particular the classic models, that start with a nine. It also features a reference to the legendary Fuchs wheel, the critical impetus for which was provided by Dr Ferry Porsche and which made its debut in 1966, as did the iconic Porsche 911S.
Auto Motion is really more of a feeling than a specific meaning. The dictionary definition of ‘Motion’ refers to a change of position, as a characteristic of something that moves i.e perpetual motion.
Have you seen the Rabbit!?
9 Auto Motion Porsche technician Bobby Ullmann owns and is restoring his beloved VW Rabbit. It has a smart retro company livery which pays homage to the fact that these nifty little trucks were used by official Porsche parts departments during the 1970’s & ’80’s.
If you see Bobby and his Rabbit out and about give him a wave!
